Administered by ArtsFund in partnership with Allen Family Philanthropies, the fourth round of the Community Accelerator Grant will distribute $10 million to eligible nonprofit organizations across Washington State. Individual grants range from $2,500 to $25,000, allowing recipients to use the funding wherever it is most needed to advance their mission and serve their communities.

Whether your organization focuses on music, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature, film, or cultural preservation, this grant could provide the flexible support needed to expand your impact.

About the ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant 2026

The Community Accelerator Grant was created to help strengthen Washington’s arts and cultural ecosystem by providing unrestricted funding to organizations that enrich communities through artistic and cultural programming.

Unlike many project-specific grants, recipients can decide how to allocate the funding based on their most pressing organizational priorities, including:

  • Operational expenses
  • Program development
  • Capacity building
  • Staff support
  • Community outreach
  • Organizational sustainability

For the 2026 funding cycle, the program places greater emphasis on supporting smaller organizations, recognizing that unrestricted funding can have an especially meaningful impact on their long-term growth.

Grant Value

Successful applicants may receive:

  • Unrestricted grants ranging from $2,500 to $25,000
  • Flexible use of awarded funds
  • Opportunity to strengthen organizational sustainability
  • Funding supported through a $10 million statewide investment

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include organizations based in Washington State that meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a 501(c)(3) public charity, a fiscally sponsored organization under a 501(c)(3), or a state or federally recognized Tribal entity.
  • Must have a primary mission focused on producing or supporting arts and cultural activities.
  • For the 2026 cycle, organizations should generally have annual operating budgets of $1 million or less.
  • Previous applicants and previous grantees may reapply, but eligibility will be reviewed independently for the 2026 cycle.

Organizations involved in disciplines such as:

  • Music
  • Theatre
  • Dance
  • Opera
  • Literary Arts
  • Film & Media
  • Visual Arts
  • Arts Service Organizations

are encouraged to apply if artistic programming forms a central part of their work.

Funding Priorities

The program seeks to support organizations serving communities that have historically had limited access to traditional funding opportunities, including:

  • Rural communities
  • BIPOC-led organizations
  • LGBTQ+ communities
  • Organizations serving people with disabilities
  • Community-centered cultural organizations

Funding decisions are guided by a diverse Community Advisory Panel to help ensure equitable and community-informed grantmaking.

Application Timeline

  • Application Opens: July 15, 2026 (12:00 PM)
  • Application Deadline: August 21, 2026 (5:00 PM Pacific Time)
  • Grant Notifications & Distribution: By December 31, 2026

Late applications will not be accepted.

  • Organizational details
  • Mission and program information
  • Financial information
  • Banking information
  • Demographic information (where applicable)
  • Supporting organizational documents

Applicants may save their progress throughout the application period before final submission.

Why You Should Apply

The ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant stands out because it offers unrestricted funding, allowing organizations to invest where support is needed most rather than limiting spending to a single project.

This flexibility can help organizations:

  • Improve long-term sustainability
  • Expand community programming
  • Strengthen internal operations
  • Build organizational resilience
  • Increase impact across Washington State

Interested organizations should submit their applications through the official ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant portal before the deadline.
