About the Flavor Intelligence Group (FIG)
The Flavor Intelligence Group (FIG) is developing the first academic research platform in the United States dedicated to flavor digitization. The research team combines modern analytical chemistry, artificial intelligence, and sensory science to better understand how the chemical composition of food influences human flavor perception.
Selected candidates will join the Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where they will contribute to groundbreaking research while earning a Ph.D.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess most of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Chemistry
- Analytical Chemistry
- Food Science
- Computer Science
- Or another closely related discipline
- Strong academic background in chemistry or analytical chemistry
- Genuine interest in flavor chemistry and food science
- Programming, coding, or computational skills are an advantage
- Strong scientific mindset with excellent attention to detail
