The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat is inviting applications for its 2026 Internship Program in Digital Communication, and related Digital fields. This internship is designed to equip talented African students with practical experience while contributing to one of Africa’s most transformative economic initiatives.

About the AU AfCFTA Internship Program
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat established this internship program to expose outstanding African students to the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat while helping them build valuable professional skills.
Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that support the Secretariat’s strategic objectives. Participants will also gain practical exposure to multicultural teamwork, international organizational processes, and digital communication practices.

Internship Responsibilities
Successful interns may be expected to:
- Support communication and digital engagement activities.
- Assist with translating official documents between English and French where applicable.
- Provide interpretation support during meetings and discussions.
- Contribute to corporate communication initiatives.
- Assist various departments with digital communication projects.
- Work within multicultural teams on assignments aligned with the Secretariat’s objectives.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be a citizen of an African Union Member State.
- Be currently residing in Ghana.
- Be enrolled full-time as a final-year student at an accredited public or private higher institution.
- Have academic qualifications relevant to the advertised internship field.
- Be available for at least three months.
- Demonstrate proficiency in one AU official language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Kiswahili or Spanish). Knowledge of an additional AU language is considered an advantage.
- Possess strong ICT and Microsoft Office skills.
- Be comfortable working within multicultural and international teams.
- Be committed to maintaining the values and professional standards of the African Union.
