Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a Black or Coloured South African citizen residing in South Africa, according to South African BEE definitions.
- Be under 34 years old when the course begins.
- Hold (or be completing) a strong undergraduate degree with at least the equivalent of an upper second-class qualification.
- Be applying for or enrolled in an Honours or Master’s programme at an accredited South African university.
- Show a strong commitment to social justice, community development, or environmental improvement through their academic goals.
Required Application Documents
During the first application stage, applicants must submit:
- Academic transcripts
- Degree certificate(s), where applicable
- Valid South African ID, passport, birth certificate, or driver’s licence
Applicants who progress beyond Stage One will receive instructions for submitting additional information during Stage Two.
Selection Process
The scholarship follows a two-stage assessment process:
Stage One
Applicants submit a short online application together with the required supporting documents before the deadline.
Stage Two
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a more detailed application during September 2026.
Selected candidates will then be invited for interviews scheduled for October–November 2026, with final scholarship decisions expected by December 2026.
