African startups and innovators working in agriculture now have a major opportunity to scale their ideas through the Smart Africa & FAO Innovate Africa Challenge 2026 (3rd Edition). The challenge is designed to identify high-impact digital and technology-driven solutions that can improve food systems, increase agricultural productivity, and strengthen resilience across Africa.

Selected innovators can receive up to US$50,000 in support, as well as mentorship, visibility, and opportunities to connect with investors and development partners.

About the Innovate Africa Challenge 2026

The Innovate Africa Challenge is a collaborative initiative led by Smart Africa and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The program seeks practical innovations that address pressing agricultural challenges through technology, data, digital tools, and scalable business models.

The challenge is open to entrepreneurs, startups, SMEs, research teams, and innovators from across Africa who are developing solutions capable of creating measurable impact in the agriculture sector.
